Khotyn Fortress

Khotyn fortress with more than 1,000 years of history, located in the outskirts of the city of Khotyn on the banks of the Dniester, belongs to the most iconic and popular tourist sites of Chernivtsi region which attracts tourists from around the world and creates good preconditions for excursion tourism. The complex of buildings includes fortification walls and ditches, stone castle, the church of St. Alexander Nevsky, remnants of buildings of the Turkish era and other structures.

Tourist routes around Podnistrovya and Khotyn hills, passing along picturesque banks of the Dniester and covering Zastavna, Khotyn, Kelmentsi and Sokyryany regions, are very popular in North Bukovyna. Speleological Routes

Availability of the exceptional gypsum caves in the region fascinates fans of speleological tourism. Cinderella takes the third place in the world for the length of karstic caves (about 90 km); the larger part of it is located on the territory of Ukraine and the main entrance is in Moldova. The cave is three-level, distinguished by abnormally large size of underground galleries, almost inexhaustible reserve of speleological resources and unique secondary mineral sediments and formations.

Bukovynian Carpathians

Bukovynian Carpathian Mountains cover Vyzhnytsya and Putyla districts of the region; their geological formations have considerable tourist potential, cognitive significance and aesthetic impact. The mountains include Dovbush’s Cave, mysterious chain "Black Dale", rocks "Slit Stones" and "Falcon’s Eye", numerous waterfalls on splendid mountain rivers and picturesque lake "Mountain Eye". In the village of Ust’-Putyla there is a rock “Stone Rich Woman” or Cursed Rock, a legend about this rock is still alive.
