 The
museum of Folk Architecture and Life was created
in 1977. It is placed on the slopes of big
ravine on the Moskovska Olimpiada street.
Museum territory is open-air and there are more
than thirty wooden structures: Two-story mills
from the village Rukshyn in the Hotyn region and
from the village Shishkovtsi in Novoselytsja
region, forge, wooden St. Nikolay's Church from
the village Drachyntsi in Kitsmanets region, a
wooden frame bellows from Beregomet. In a temple
icons made in a style of so called “Bukovinian
primitive” and a collection of sacral painting
are presented.
The habitation is presented by three country
manors – from the house of the poor farmer to
the prosperous peasant. Houses are altered into
museum rooms where you can find one and a half
thousand exhibits: carpets and ceramics, clothes
and agricultural implements.
Last building before church – rural justice,
from the village Revne in Kitsmanets region. In
its one part sessions of rural deputies were
held, in another part the gendarmerie and
apartment of the chief of gendarmerie took
places. Every year Skansen organize public
celebrations which gathers many spectators.
The museum is put into the list of sights of
history of national value.
